I’m a Portland, Oregon guitarist, singer, songwriter, & music educator. Listen here or watch my videos on YouTube.
I am a 1983 Musicians Institute grad, and got to learn from guitar greats including Keith Wyatt (The Blasters), Scott Henderson, Joe Pass, Robben Ford, and Larry Carlton.
After teaching at the San Luis Obispo School of Music on California’s Central Coast, I made Portland, Oregon, home and music a ‘serious hobby.’
In 1991, I formed The Working Stiffs and recorded Tsunami Tsessions & Time Off (Apple Music & Spotify). We performed primarily at Portland-area venues, including for Portland Parks & Recreation’s outdoor concerts for nearly a decade.
Since 2012, I’ve volunteered teaching kids at Trillium Family Services, and hosted Guitars-For-Kids fundraisers. Expect another in late 2023. I hosted the most recent one at the historic O’Connor’s, in Multnomah Village with talented and generous musicians including:
Stan Jones: Keyboards & Vocals (The Working Stiffs)
Jesse Cunningham: Pedal Steel Guitar
Ray Mann: Bass, Drums, & Vocals
Jamey Hampton: Guitar & Vocals (The Brothers Jam, BodyVox)
Previous events included Marv & Rindy Ross (Quarterflash), Lex Browning (Poco), & David Alan Stensen (The Grass Roots).
The Working Stiffs dispersed, but CDBaby sells our CDs and Spotify, Apple Music, & YouTube stream our music.
Peace, muse, & good health!
